YouTube Starter Pack

Hello Jewells! Welcome back to the blog. In today’s post I wanted to share my YouTuber starter pack!

These are the things I use as a YouTuber. Most of these things are great for pros or beginners.

If you are completely new to the scene and want to start with “How To Start a Successful YouTube Channel,” I have a blog post or YouTube video to help you out!

Camera

I use a Canon Powershot g7X. I love that it is small, has auto-focus, and a flip out view finder. This camera makes vlogging easy! I’m on my second one ahah. It is the best staple youtuber camera.

Tripod

I am not too picky about handheld tripods, but here is the one I use! I received it in a bundle with the camera- it gets the job done and it pretty sturdy.

Ring light

I recently bought this iPhone tripod ring light for TikTok! 10/10 recommend because I also use it as lighting for my vlog because it is way less of a hassle than my heavy duty ring light. I will link them both depending on your preference.

Editing Software

I use Final Cut Pro X to edit now and imovie is what I used when I got started!

If you are interested in how I edit my videos, I made a whole blog post AND YouTube tutorial!! I hope it helps you out :)

Harddrive

I learned the hard way that you need a hard drive…. you should be editing on the hard drive directly to save the memory on your phone and have a mother-load of back ups!!

Here is the 3 TB hard drive I use.

iPad and Apple Pencil

I have an older ipad model, but I like to use Cameron’s new ipad because it has procreate! There I can make overlays or thumbnails. You can see how I do that in my editing tutorial on YouTube.

Photoshop/ Canva

I switch between Canva and Photoshop to make my thumbnails. If you are just starting out and you don’t have access to Adobe applications, Canva is free! Below are examples of my thumbnails!

I hope this blog post helps you find the gear you need to start your YouTube channel! Of course, remember it is not about the quality of your equipment but the quality of your content.
