Hello Jewells! Today I wanted to share with you all a self-care routine while we are all home. Self-care is a great way to keep your mind at peace during all of the chaos right now!

I also made a YouTube video of my self-care routine! Check it out after this blog post.

Gratitude

If you only do one thing, write down at least 10 things you are grateful for. Gratitude helps us focus on the positive things in our life and attracts more positive things as well. When you express gratitude you give your happier emotions more room to flourish.

I plan on doing a blog post focused on gratitude, so be on the look out for that! The gratitude journal shown below can be found here.

Journal

Journaling helps you release thoughts, feelings, experiences, and ideas from your brain and makes room for new. Journaling can help you identify problems, organize thoughts, and face your fears. You will also generate new ideas and find inspiration through journaling.

Disconnect

Get off of social media, put the news away, and get off of your phone. Disconnecting will help ease anxiety. It can be easy to get addicted to the news. We fall in love with the drama and we get a secret satisfaction leaning into our fears. However, you must discipline yourself and disconnect.

Go Outside

Whether you just go out onto your patio, walk around your backyard, or take a stroll down the neighborhood; going outside will help you connect with nature. Being with nature increases productivity, lowers stress, and improves happiness. Getting fresh air helps to stimulate your brain with oxygen flow as well.

Cook a Meal

Cooking is something that I can truly find simple joy in. I love to cook something healthy for myself or if I have the chance I love to cook for loved ones. If you are feeling creative or have the time, look up new recipes on Pinterest!

Clean Your Space

Your external world reflects your internal world. So, clean up your space. Pick up your room, organize your closet, or get rid of old things that no longer serve you. When we do not have control of the world around us, we can find comfort in the control of cleaning up our environment.

Take a bath or shower

There is nothing like washing off the dirt from the day. It makes me feel like I am getting off the essence of the day including my worries, anxieties, and stresses. I am more of a shower person, but if baths are your cup of tea, then treat yourself! P.s. light a candle! It will boost your ambiance.

Skincare = Self-care

I am a firm believer that “Skincare = self-care.” I love to have a full skincare routine. I love to wash my face, put on face-masks, and indulge in skincare products. I will link my detailed blog post here.

Read a book

It doesn’t matter what kind of book it is, but reading is a great way to disconnect, calm down, and stimulate your brain.

Meditate

Meditation is a practice for achieving mindfulness. It is proven to reduce stress and anxiety while increases productivity and motivation. When life is loud of chaos, meditating helps to slow down your mind.

If you have trouble meditating like I do, you can use guided meditations from YouTube. I’ve also heard to set a 5-10 minute timer on your phone and to try meditating that long.

Yoga or At Home Workout

My last tip for now is to look up “at home workouts” or “at home yoga.” Being active is a great way to take care of yourself. It is also proven to help with stress and anxiety!

I hope this self care routine was helpful! It is so important to take care of yourself, especially in stressful times. Water your garden! Comment below what you like to do in your self-care routine, you never know who it could help.
