SXSW 2020 Panel (I need your vote!)
SXSW might be in 2020, but we only have until August 23 to get votes for our panel!
I am so excited to have the opportunity to speak on a panel, Lady Creatives in Business: Break Victim Mentality, at SXSW 2020.
I would be on the panel with Jewels Clark, founder of How To Be Social, next to Suzy Batiz, the founder of Poo-Pourri, and Leah Frazier the president of Think Three Media.
Each of these women have personally inspired me. Jewels is my best friend and I have been fortunate enough to co-host creative events together. I have also watched her turn a blog into a well known community and service agency.
Suzy was an inspiration to me the day I met her at an event at her house. She currently is my mentor in a women’s entrepreneur group that she is making the coursework for. Seriously she’s changed my life.
And let me just tell all of you, I published this website while listening to Leah talk on a panel this summer. I specifically remember making eye contact with her while I typed away in the audience (building this website) because her story was so motivating.
All this to say, I am humbled to be on a panel with these badass women.
“Victim mentality: the idea that we aren’t responsible for our actions and circumstances. It’s true - we’re put in situations that we can’t always control. But is there nothing we can do? As lady creatives, go-getters in the business, we face a lot of opposition in our work and careers. We’re subject to sudden changes and have to deal. But we’re not powerless. We have the abilities, skills, and drive to put ourselves where we want to be. How do we overcome this? By escaping that mentality.” - Jewels Clark
It is not often you get the opportunity to speak on a panel with your best friend. Much less at SXSW. This is a huge goal of mine, that I know will come to fruition at the perfect time.
Please vote up for us to be at SXSW. We need YOU! Deadline is August 23.
